President Muhammadu Buhari departs Abuja for the 71st UN General Assembly in the US


The President Federal Republic Nigeria,Buhari yesterday departed Abuja for the 71st United Nations General Assembly in New York holding from September 19th to 23rd. President Buhari will deliver Nigeria’s statement at the opening of the General Debate of the Assembly, on the theme: The Sustainable Development Goals: a Universal Push to Transform our World.” He will also attend a high-level summit, hosted by the UN, on `Large Movements of Refugees and Migrants’’.

Iheanacho delighted at 1st Champions League goal


Manchester City Forward Iheanacho came in for Sergio Aguero to add a fourth in City’s 4-0 win over Borussia Mönchengladbach

The goal was scored in the 91st minute and the first Champions League goal of the Super Eagles forward.

After the game, Iheanacho on his Twitter shared his delight at his performance.

“Great result and great team performance from the team #MCFC,” he writes.

Manchester United players recently visited an old fan on his dying bed to fulfil his life-long wish


Manchester Uniteds Fan and great supporter of the club Paddy Lawler had a death wish to get a visit from Manchester United players and his granddaughter took to social media to make the appeal.

Jesse Lingard‘s cousin, Robert Kilshaw, spotted the post and set up the surprise meeting on Tuesday.


Marcus Rashford, Lingard, Ashley Young and Timothy Fosu-Mensah all visited the 73-year-old and spent half an hour with him discussing the club before the posed for photos.

He died just 45 minutes after the players left.

Phyno set to release sophomore album “Playmaker P” in November


Nigerian rapper Phyno, ‘eze nnunu‘  is set to release his sophomore solo studio album“Playmaker P” in November.

The ‘connect crooner’ who released his debut “No Guts No Glory” in 2014 is looking straight ahead to double his tally, by dropping his second studio album.

“Playmaker P” will be released in November, with work on the project almost concluded. It will feature hit song ‘Fada Fada’, along with ‘Connect’, and a number of bonus singles. No official artwork, and tracklist has been released.

Olamide set to release his sixth solo studio album in December.


Baddo as he’s widely known, is set to release his sixth solo studio album in December.

The Nigerian rapper who has released released a studio album every year since his debut in 2011, is working on maintaining his figures and keeping his momentum going, by dropping a studio album in 2016.

The new album will be released in December, as songs on the album have already been recorded. It will feature hit song ‘Who you epp’, along with other singles. No official title, artwork, and tracklist has been released.

Two Veteran Rappers set to unite again for another Industry Shutdown this Christmas


The duo Veteran Nigerian Rapper, Phyno and Olamide are plans to hit it up the end of the year with their solo studio albums.

The two indigenous rappers who first struck gold working together on ‘Ghost mode’ in 2012, have grown considerably to the top of the Nigeria’s Hip-hop food chain, and they are planning to continue to work together to maintain that.

From myriad collaborations which have always succeeded in becoming hits, to a joint album in 2015, the duo are working hard to maintain the fanbase, level of influence on the game, and up their financial earnings.

Patience Jonathan may lose $26 million to Nigeria as affected companies plead guilty


There was a momentary hush inside the courtroom after a representative of  Pluto Property and Investment Company Limited, the first of the four companies involved in a $26 million money laundering case linked to former First Lady, Patience Jonathan, abruptly pleaded guilty before the judge.

The representatives of the other three companies – Sea Gate Property Development and Investment Company Limited; Trans Ocean Property and Investment Company Limited; and Avalon Global Property Development Company Limited – followed suit and pleaded guilty before Justice Babivision of the Federal High Court.

NCC orders Visafone to vacate 800 MHz band

The Nigerian Communication Commission has ordered Visafone Communications Limited to stop operating in the 800 MHz band due to its interference with Smile Communications Limited signals.

The Commission gave the directive after the end of its second Quarter spectrum monitoring exercise, saying that Visafone should switch off all CDMA signals in the 800 MHz band entering into Ikeja, Lagos area.

This is even as the report showed that the industry regulator had recovered from Layer 3 Limited, one of the internet service and metropolitan fibre optic network operators the sum of N34, 066,537.28 outstanding financial obligations due to the NCC.

World football legend, Kanu Nwankwo loses Mum


World football legend, Nwankwo Kanu, popularly known as “Papilo” and the entire Kanu family have been in a deep mourning after they lost their mother Susan Kanu Iheme to the untimely hands of death last Thursday.

Kanu Nwankwo spoke with and eulogised his mother, whom he
described as a great pillar of strength to the entire family.

“The loss of Mama is hard to bear. She is a rock that stood by me and all my siblings. She showedus equal love and affection, andalways prayed for each and every
