Dozens of physically challenged people, destitute, and civil society activists Tuesday protested the forced evictions and demolition exercises of the Lagos State government.
The placard-bearing protesters, who marched down Awolowo Road in Ikoyi, also kicked against the government’s ban on street trading.
“Our position is that the government is not only for the rich, the government is for the rich and the poor,” said Maurice Fangnon of the Centre for Defence of Human Rights and Democracy in Africa.
